A couple weeks back I wrote a story called Collector’s Item. It implied that John Wayne Gacy had been part of a ring that made snuff films, and that such films could be bought online. My editor pushed back with some pointed questions about how such scenes could be filmed. Who’d shoot the video? Would the story overcome the reader’s skepticism about the suggested films? Wasn’t Gacy a lone wolf?
