Brad played the character of Denny in the film version of Choke
From CNN:
But it was his breakout role in 2017 playing Desi Piscatella, a gay corrections officer at Litchfield Federal Penitentiary on the hit Netflix series “Orange Is the New Black,” which earned him a SAG Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.
He appeared in more than 40 films like “Bright, Fury,” “Me and You and Everyone We Know” and “Choke,” the latter of which won a Special Jury Prize for work by an ensemble cast at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
We kept in touch for years, and I was happy to see his career take off. This deeply bums me out. Denny has always been among my favorite characters, and Brad among my favorite real people.
He was brilliant as Denny in the film adaptation of ‘Choke’ and I enjoyed seeing him commanding a tank battalion alongside another Palahniuk-book-adaptation actor in ‘Fury’.
I’ll do the cliche thing and say that he’s left a body of work behind to be remembered by and enjoyed by and moved by because, though it can sound hackneyed, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s true.
Very sorry to hear this, Chuck.
