Tomorrow we’re having a movie night at Chelsea’s house. We’ll be watching the 1977 horror film The Sentinel with a specific agenda.

The film is wonderful cheese, but gets gritty near the end because it features actual disfigured performers—yes, in the spirit of Tod Browning’s Freaks. Like the film Jacob’s Ladder it starts low-key, but gets intense at the end.

We’ll be watching for the morphing objects. There are many. But one is so subtle I’ve missed it for years. Will you catch it? A prize to whoever catches it and posts it. But not here. You’ll have to post it on a Comments section I’ll put up this Sunday.

Once the post is up for Comments on Sunday, whoever first enters the big, secret morphing object will win. This film is easy to access, and might be on several streaming platforms. Because it’s not Great Art it will be easier to watch and dissect for its elements. Plus it has Ava Gardner in a cameo. The link above might require a rental payment, but that’s only a last resort.
