The voices of the choir had to compete with the bustling sound of the wind.

She didn’t know the girl who had died, but anyone in the city the week of her death would know her name.

“Columbia Student Found Dead”

No one had told the story of Allison’s final moments. It was not even mentioned in the paper.

She paid a visit to her father’s cherry tree and said a short prayer.

His mother answered the door when the cops showed up.

Kyle Colgan was born and raised in New York City, where he currently resides with his wife and cat. He earned his BFA in film for directing at SVA. He wrote and directed the indy feature film The Tenant and the short film Those Who Leave, Those Who Stay. For his day job, he works as an Associate Producer for a post-production company. He is currently working on his first novel.
