There are so many great lines here. “I don’t like you, too.” “Eventually everyone’s heart attacks them.” “…happy, like when the day finally comes to switch from Mom’s house to Dad’s house.” “My heart takes a bath in my stomach.” I could go on and on.
Then the silliest object—a sparkling, purple jump rope—becomes everything.
Sunshine was a student in the Portland workshop for a year or more, and I always look forward to hearing her read.
