On December 1st We’ll Begin Reviewing Submissions for an Upcoming Collection of Christmas Ghost Stories
To read the full tease, please click here. Please note that the window for submissions is Dec. 1st through the 31st.
There are already some big names attached, but we’ve held plenty of slots for new voices. Even if you’re starting from zero on an idea, this gives you a good six weeks to hammer out your submission.
As always, the book tour was exhausting. I’ll post the tour story, What I Learned Over My Summer Vacation, later today. It was wonderful to see so many Substackers in the meatworld. Your tiny avatars do not do you justice. Check out one of the best swags I’ve ever received on a tour.
This is a kangaroo baby hand crocheted during a road trip from North Dakota to Naperville. It will share a place of honor with the autopsy penguin from so many years ago. Thank you!
Over lunch in NYC, I learned that my editor at Simon & Schuster, Tim O’Connell, is also the editor for the estate of Ray Bradbury. S&S is planning a reinvented version of The Martian Chronicles, full of stories and vignettes and interludes — all forms used in the original fix-up novel — but written by new writers. I’ll keep you posted as this project comes together.
That’s the kangaroo I made!!!!! I am so honored!!! And I am so glad you liked it! Shout out to Candice for confirming to me that I should indeed make it for you!!
Saw you in Naperville, and forgot to mention that I got a short story published as an honorable mention.
