The good news is that you’ll no longer be sent cute-animal-with-microphone graphics…
The Hindsight Taproom is closing this week, so that means no more Portland Story Night. We brought a lot of business in once a month, but that wasn’t enough to keep Karyn afloat. She and I will look at future pop-up events, but there are no solid plans as of yet.
Brad, who’s managed the videos so wonderfully, is moving to Mexico. I’d no idea how much time it would take me to process and post all the videos. Based on all of these factors I’ve decided that April will be the last month for Story Nights. Those will be in the Midwest, April 19th, and in New York City. I’ll get the videos posted and give people the month of May to vote on the winners. The top three to be announced in June.
Everything is an experiment. Sometimes it takes a while to find your audience. This week the film Dragged Across Concrete hit #1 on Netflix, so I congratulated my colleague Dallas Sonnier whose company made it — six years ago. When Dallas bought the magazine Fangoria we worked together. He’s long ago moved on to other projects, but he’s laughing about how that Mel Gibson story finally found its footing. Very similar to the delayed success of Fight Club.
My thanks to everyone who presented stories. My special thanks to Kerri and Randy who worked so hard to organize the events. For now I’ll work to get the remaining videos posted.
Thank you for the opportunity, Chuck, Kerri, and Randy!
It was a dang GOOOOOD experiment!!
Very sorry to hear about Hindsight closing—- but, I’m pretty positive Karyn will come up with something even more fun with Chuck!!!
Thank you to all those that ventured out to the Midwest Story Night. What a RIDE!! I know I’ve made some life-long friends and experienced something I’ll never forget. I’m incredibly grateful Chuck allowed us to have the event in Youngstown— it was an honor to bring it to Cedars! I’m just sorry I couldn’t bring Sassy. She loves meeting new people— but also loves eating strange things off the floor other than her own dog food. 😵💫
I’m ready for the next Cacophony Society assignment!!!
Thank you again— Chuck, Randy and everyone that showed up!!! 😬🥊♥️
