I wanted to, but the baby-she'd be collecting people for her fan club trying to steal Chuck's thunder and pulling on my nipples the whole time screaming MEEK entertaining for others I'm sure. Plus 14 hours of driving. Sigh. I just need to move there, clearly. Have the most fun, all! I'm sure these are going to be incredibly entertaining and cool responses. Thanks for continuing to put on connecting events that make the world feel a little lighter, even if the humor is a lil bit dark baby J knows we need it <3 xoxo
Big fan. Lottery proposal largely well received in my town. A few logistics questions:
What kind of stone is best? (Weight, shape, color?)
Is there an estimated minimum quantity of stones necessary for a successful event? (I reside in sand country, but plan to make a haul at stone country, worrying about different bulk discounts.)
During the stoning, is it first come first serve, or does everyone get one guaranteed throw? (Children first?)
I posted my “Dear Shirley Jackson” on my Substack if anyone wants to read it. It’s inspired by the man’s Invisible Monsters. Anybody wanna have me read theirs? I’m down.
Chuck is basically the king of rocks. He could name you about 72 different minerals from memory. Imagine if that was his letter? Just a list of stones. Then he hurls them into the crowd. Wish I could see all that live.
For anyone who was able to attend, would you mind writing an article describing the evening? Chuck's mannequin anecdote is certainly a fun middle-act plot point. Perhaps Chuck is planning on doing so?
Wish I could make it. I did write a letter, though. Would anyone be willing to read it in my stead?
Have fun everyone!
I wish these were streamed. :( Have fun guys!
I’ll throw a rock from Edmonton, Alberta.
And nobody showup without a rock and say, “My dog ate my rock.”

Looking forward to it,

So exciting! I will be there and I'm just finishing my story! So fun!

Do we throw rocks at you or eachother? Can I throw my rock at myself?
What do I win if I hit you with a rock?
Sorry I can't make it. Pet emergency. Have fun. I took all suggestions for my revise, thank you. https://open.substack.com/pub/kellyvardimanclark/p/dear-shirley-jackson-letter-revision?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=25k9d4

My brother was going to come and read it but he was detained at work. (Allegedly.)
I just put some photos up and I think you would love them, Mr. Palahniuk! @stefaniasallesbruins did a fabulous job! https://candicec.substack.com/p/pictures-from-the-caverns-letters
