Keep in mind that all of these photos have been discarded. They meant something to someone, once. They marked some important occasion, but they’ve been thrown away.

Some of the context will come from the particular used book I put a photo into. You might keep in mind what once-popular-but-now-forgotten book I should seek out for this snap shot.

For example, I could tuck this photo into The Thorn Birds with the inscription “412-835-0379.” Instead of words, a phone number can be the clue or “call to action” that prompts the finder down a rabbit hole.
