How many words/pages are you up to? Do you have a full draft? Let's talk about next steps.

Kind of an unrelated question but does being poor at academic writing not necessarily mean that one is bad at writing full stop? Like, there’s a difference between someone who runs recreationally, enjoys it, and is considered athletic vs someone running for their life from a bear, right?

Consider that academic papers have an assigned topic you might not be interested in. You'll write longer and better and return to revise if you have a stake in the game.

In that case I am withdrawing all of my chips

I have a full draft! I’m sitting at 50k but I’ve been diligently revamping, filling out descriptions, plot stuff etc. I can’t wait to talk tonight!

Momma mia! Not pages! Do you use the word count feature on WORD or some other formula. Congratulations, too, that's so REWARDING,

I use Scrivener and each chapter has a word count with a total count at the top of the whole document which is super helpful for knowing right where you’re at. Best $50 I ever spent was on Scrivener for writing novels! I had to go to YouTube to see how to use it but after that it was great!

That was super helpful advice, but the bulk of my writing is legal briefs, so I need something powerful like WORD. Believe it or not, I put pictures in my motions, and I create databases, etc., and from what I recall there's no writing software that can complete with WORD, uncles I'm wrong. But I agree my platform and interface is everything.

Chuck, I had a dream you uploaded 3 posts in a day and one was a Gloves Off. Why do I keep dreaming about these things??

If you’re reading in the nude— we can handle it. You will have to have a rubber chicken as an accessory!

Billy, one of the owner’s of Cedars has smoked chicken tacos and smash burgers on the menu. We have coffee and tea available as well. He makes a mean Bloody Mary, too! Best martinis and mixed drinks. Craft beers and classics, too! We have a good amount of seating ready! You have an ACTUAL stage above us all with lighting, too! Door gifts for readers!!! MIDWEST STORY NIGHT is proud to have you all!

P.S. I've never been to readings before I read in Manhattan. Do people tend to shed their clothes? I'm almost 50 and I have yet to appear nude in public. But with these scars o mine, I've seriously been considering Onlyfans if writing does pan out.
