A friend sent me this from today’s Daily Oregonian…
This Monday, June 20th at 6:30 we’ll hold our second Hindsight Story Night. The location is the Hindsight Tap Room at 5829 SE Powell, Portland 97206. Bring a folding chair if possible. Karyn has plenty of chairs, but we ran out during the last meet-up.
If you want to present work we’ll put your name in a hat. As always, don’t bring work that needs a lot of set-up — “…this part comes after the scene where Ben saw Tracee getting off the bus, before she walks west along Oak Street in what appears to be a…” — keep it self-contained and short-ish, unless it’s incredible. You’ll be reading it, so you’ll find out if it goes so long that it drags.
Scare us. Make us laugh. Make us weep. But beware of lugging.
So, Monday. See you there.
I can see the name Chuck Palahniuk getting some kind of world record for most book dedications one day. Seriously, the things you do for writers -- and just people in general -- is beyond generous.
So exciting! Thank you for setting this up Chuck. I hope the open mic performers get the exposure they deserve!!
