A guy I work with just recently rescued a dog. It was outside for weeks in his neighbors yard. So much matted fur it could barely see. He dognapped it and then took it to the vet and covered a $700 bill. When he finally bumped into his neighbor he told him he took the dog. The guy says, "That's my daughters dog." And then the man called to his daughter and said, "Hey, this guy wants your dog." She just said, ok take him. My co-worker said that's the fifth of sixth animal he's rescued in his neighborhood. Blows me away how people can be so cruel. I commend you and others like you for helping this great cause.
Hey, I'm a light-weight compared to your friend. A vet in San Francisco once told me that he's got six chihuahuas because they're the breed most people ditch at his office once they hear the cost of treatment. They just say, "I'm running out to my car for a second..." and they're gone.
These are the most exquisite bookmarks I have ever seen! And such a collection of positive energy too 🥰. Did the gem stones already have the holes in ready for threading or did you do that too?
No, they're already drilled. Bits and pieces also came from jewelry that belonged to my mother. My brother has lived in Durban, South Africa since the early 90s, and he'd often send me amber and malachite.
Strange funny sad story. In London I found strands of carved jade, and when I went to buy them the clerk -- an Emily Blunt look-a-like -- started to weep loudly. The store filled with customers surrounded me to demand why I'd upset her. It seems she'd had a rough go recently, saw my name on my credit card, and liked my books. These circumstances led her to cry. The classic bookstore Foyles was nearby so I walked over and bought a stack of books, returned to the weeping clerk and gave them as a gift. It took years, but when I used the last of that jade I was a little heartbroken.
You are an absolute angel. You truly bring so much happiness to so many people in so many ways. Not only with your writing, but with your loving heart and soul. My life is definitely better because of you. I hope all of the love and kindness you constantly gift to others, returns to you tenfold.
