Maegan brought peens and eyeballs last time. https://photos.app.goo.gl/oAG1WnYCiF5PgKg19

And Kerri brought tons of V-Day treats! I still have some tiny rubber pigs that now live on my air conditioner.

Im sure it was lovely! I need the stage time to get this problem under wraps and thats exactly why I was going to come. Had myself all pumped up to go, and bring a friend Tuesday morning. But then I spoke with another friend while workshopping poetry and decided that my energy would be better spent creating a storytelling event in Lou/Cincy. Checked out a venue last night but it wont work.

Sorry, I’m a product of marketing. It’s an old Fig Newtons commercial from the 80s.

Also, Fig Newtons are a favorite of mine. Nice pick! I’ll probably drive up there for a story night one of these weeks, but you are way up there in northeast Ohio. Any decent places to stay in town?

Here’s the story of Chuck’s that inspired the swag tonight and fig newtons cookie choice: “Call Out.”

"Here's the tricky part." Loved those commercials.

Proof of how lyrics stick. I haven't heard that song in decades, yet the entire thing is in my head now:

Oooy gooey rich and chewy inside,

Golden cakey, tender flaky outside,

Wrap the inside in the outside, and it's good

Darn toot'n

Doing the big Fig Newton

One more time

Doing the big Fig Newton

Looking this up now. How did I miss this? 😬

Just watched— I’ve seriously been robbed of a childhood for never seeing the dancing fig. That was creepy and cute. I love it!

I had to look that up! I remember that commercial now! “It’s not a cookie mutha— it’s a Fig Newton!”

Just like I’d never seen the video of Chuck reading the Children’s book version of “Fight Club.” That seriously made my day with some laughter. I’m so glad Chuck is on this planet. ♥️

We all invested in Honey Buckets after Chuck's last story breakdown.

Thank you for the gift, Kerri. I will eat my cookies and drink my juice. But the bucket? No matter how desperate I get, it will remain decorative and not functioning!

I needed a day to recover from Wednesday’s Midwest Story Night. Another great night! The wheels on the bus kindah came off a little— got kindah wild! Matt Z. made a 7 hour drive to be with us. He has a very memorable Youngstown experience to carry with him! Kirsten gave everyone some “balls” so there’s no excuse for anyone to do what they’re afraid of doing. Stories were strong and from a wide range of topics!! You all will just have to wait to see the videos!! We even had a couple getting hot and heavy in the back of the room while I was announcing readers. Everyone gets lucky at Midwest Story Night! That’s our new selling point for advertising, now.

Thank you, Chuck for giving the Midwest a chance and everyone that’s been coming out!!! Billy sold out of the smoked chicken tacos that night! You guuuuuys— thank you for your patronage of Cedars. It seriously reminds me of the Roadhouse in “Twin Peaks.” Glad everyone is having such a good time.

Next one: April 19th. ♥️
