Yes, the blue one is a collection that includes 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', a strange edition with the printer's remarks handwritten in the text.
One is Isherwood's 'Berlin Stories' because I've been studying his character of Otto. Another is 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.' There's also a battered copy of 'The Mysteries of Pittsburgh' and a pocket paperback of 'Last Exit to Brooklyn.'
Tralala in ‘Last Exit to Brooklyn’ is the inspiration for the hit song Fitzpleasure, which was one of the first songs I listened to and got stuck in my head when I first came to high school in the US. The boys played it often in the dorms and in sports practices. Little did we know we were all humming about a broomstick themed gang rape and the death of a lady trotting on towards death without looking back.
Love and hate. It's impossibly beautiful, the way John Irving loves 'The Great Gatsby.' But it's crammed -- and I mean crammmmmed -- with racist shit. Holly Golightly uses phrases that would make the KKK blush with shame.
The not-good news is that the rough-in plumber won't get here for a month. That's a month of everything gutted and open to the wind. Being huddled in one room full of books makes me feel like Yuri Zhivago.
Seems like it may be called “Zero Hedge”. Does that sound familiar?
You know, if someone’s going to larp as one of your characters, doing it on Twitter as Maddie in the mode of address used in ‘Doomed’ seems to me like it would be the coolest/quaintest. I haven’t checked but I’d like to imagine that someone did so around the time of the book’s release as a kind of promotional thing but was just never able to let it go. Be nice to get some occasional Twitter updates on the state of affairs in Maddie’s afterlife, you know?
One room, one sofa, one dog, and a pile of books feels groovy. The old Stoics would add a little garden, then say; '' You got all you need right there'' Like a sleepover that lasts forever. Egg looks grumpy but adorable. Not a morning dude perhaps.
Good to see that the bed linen has been coordinated to complement the dog. That photo is so magazine ready, no one would guess the current living conditions.
As dignified and magnificent as ever. Eggcellent.
I think I nearly just went blind in one eye while squinting and trying to see what the book titles are on the nightstand.
So far I’ve got ‘Horizontal White Rectangle’, ‘Silver Hieroglyphics’, and ‘Squiggly Black Lines’ as some of the titles.

‘In your snatch fits pleasure, a broom shaped pleasure’
This makes me sad and angry.
That strange edition sounds like a treasure.
It has no copyright and no forward matter so I suspect it's an old-time pirated edition from the 60s.
That is so cool! 🤩

Do you have FBI imagine enhancing software on your device or supervision? I know it’s one of the two.
Nah, I just zoomed in on the stack. That was the only title I could make out. I have no hope for the others. 😂
Happy Sunday! Hi, Egg! 😊
You'd think that finger-licker got woke up by a pea!
My friend's gigantic, white, german shepherd/timberwolf always crosses his paws similar to that.
Do you know how long the remodeling job will take?

Talk about really living that minimalist life!
What a beautiful dog!
Chuck -- I don’t know if you’re aware but one of your fictional creations has become a journalist in your home city. Seems he’s gone from causing corporate mayhem to writing articles covering it: https://twitter.com/citizenfreepres/status/1632162402396692480?s=46&t=vT3XMA5iipC0gz9ko3sntA
Yup. I've read his articles several times. Can't think of the website that he headlines on.

Yes.. Just found it. ZeroHedge.
Now that's my kind of pet.

Can he come to Hindsight next time because that would be awesome!
I wish, but Egg gets spooked with too many people around.

Understood.

What a handsome pup!
