Toby or not Toby?

Thanks for sharing the Pixie. Still waiting for our customs watchdogs to relinquish the bookmark.

Oh dear. Really? Since October? Hit me back, and I'll see what I can do to replace it.

Thanks so much but it's not as dire as that. My "alter ego" only mailed me the box a couple of weeks ago (due to (ahem) a little misunderstanding). I should get it any day now.

I'm also waiting for a package from Toronto (neighbouring city) that was mailed around the same time. The race is on!!

Anyway now you inspired me to rescue not quite a cute pup but a niece-in-law-in-law (husband's niece's sis in law) who is in the critical care ward in the Middle East recovering from a serious car accident. I wanna be as generous as you when I grow up :)

The first box (or the second?) translated into surgery/disaster relief in the Philippines. You probably have no idea of the ripples your actions have caused, multiplied by all the recipients.

X (I guess I'll learn that woman's name at some point) thanks you. As for me, your compliment the other day is enough, not to mention those countless offers to send me things.

BTW I heard you have a file with fans' addresses. I moved 5 years ago so don't send all that stuff to that old address! haha

(chuck shamed, here) I only just now got the joke. A Hamlet joke. Duh. Your posts are like shots that go right over my head.

Way, way over my head sometimes!

As long as they don't infuriate you and make you want to give away your whole book collection, you're still doing better than I did with that retort we'd all do better to just put behind us haha

I could dumb them down or put a courtesy translation too.

Sorry, I'm just trying to spice up the blog and possibly amuse you.

It is kind of funny for me to see dozens of serious/earnest/fawning posts and my iconoclastic "mayhem." But we do have a deal, right?

You can always "skim" through my posts ;)

BTW I received a notification today about a package that I need to pick up in person from the post office! I can only think of one thing it can be (!!!) Pre-thanks! I'll try to be more simple-minded as opposed to psychotic haha

Jambaar nga, suma waay!!

Don't dumb down. Make people smarten up. Please.

How about the second time someone posted it. Maybe it was easier to crack then.

Don't worry, that will probably be my last Shakespeare reference.

As for shots over your head, you're describing what would happen if we'd ever play sports. I even injured someone once trying to return his pencil case that his classmates stole in gest.

So was that 1-word quote Yiddish or Hebrew? I guess that's academic.

In other news, Chuck (and fellow readers) did you hear about a scandal brewing in Canada over Joe Rogan, Neil Young and Spotify? It's a major story here and arguably dividing the whole nation! ;)

On that note, I took the opportunity to listen to the rest of Chuck's interview with Joe today... on Spotify of Course! haha

Just in tens n tens of thousand yrs, we went from worrying about scavenging predators leftover, to a the world getting worked up about two dudes having a conversation. Usually when stories lile these take over big time, i get worried something truly worse happening under the table.

It wasn't the Chuck interview they were protesting, to my knowledge. ;)

I'm sure Chuck would agree never to underestimate the power of words and influential speakers.

The one with Jordan Peterson i meant.

I didnt mean to underestimate writers and speakers. For all I now, without writers, the printing machine and all, we wouldnt be where we are at.

I just think the media creates conflict for some reason, at times. To diverge attention from real important issues. Edward Snowden said something lile this yesterday " nobody has stronger opinions on Joe Rogan than people who never listened to his podcast."

Also, its absurd that we now focus on differences more than common ground. To quote Chuck " were not special snowflakes, were the same decaying organic matter..." people should pick up Fight Club again.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Looking forward to Thursday. My only question is, do we get a decent group rate on the spin class upstairs? Need to work on my writing as much as my calves...

I like the way you think. Come around 5:30, and we can approach them re: the spinning. "Spinning Lies" will be my hybrid writing workshop. Lose pounds, gain a book.

You've got to match your WPMs to your RPMs. Thought verbs add more resistance. I think we're onto something. I won't be able to make it until 6 though. I'll be coming from my hybrid spin / pickling workshop.
