It describes most of the streaming stuff I dislike. Lots of lavish sets. Lots of talk.

Hi chuck, don’t know if you’re open to this. But maybe it would be nice to do a post on your own analysis of this book as is? How do the acts work? What are the key scenes and why? What are your thoughts on the second act?

Yikes. That would be a long, long dissection. Let me think on it.

You could serialize it! :-). But seriously, I would love to know some more of your thoughts on things like act-structure and key scenes. And related to a work in progress would be amazing and so valuable. Just my two cents. I’ll shut up now.

Ditto what Matt said. Enough said.

I was postponing this, but I guess it's definitely time to do it. Thanks for the heads up!

The outside world will love it as much as we did. Curious to read the new edited version.

Congratulations, Chuck! Happy 27th publication.

Because they’re 27 now, innit?

It will be my 28th (I think) because I have a hardcover out next August. It's called "Not Forever, But For Now" and it's the book I wrote this past winter.

I love that title 😍

Early on had I been given an option, I wouldn’t have chosen to read it weekly, but as it turned out, I enjoyed the serialized experiment and reading Greener Pastures spread over time. I did try to resist and let several weeks build, maybe 20 or so, and read them all in one setting. But after that, I was too hooked to wait for them to build up again, and read each section the Monday it came out. Thanks, Chuck. It was fun. Congrats on selling it as a book. I look forward to seeing how it changes.

Could you please let someone over at Simon & Schuster know that I think it would be rather cool if they were to consider releasing the book with green-rimmed pages, por favor?

I’ll be considerate and only take 80% of the royalties the book makes if y’all plan to go ahead with this.

Congrats! 🥳 Have fun revising it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "architecture and dialogue." I understand the dialogue part but architecture? Is that like scene setting? And congratz on the book getting bought! You have endured another childbirth lol

To me the curse of Architecture and Dialog means I've failed to give the characters a through-line activity. Fight Club had the clubs and Project Mayhem, with the description of the old house limited to one passage. Haunted veered too much toward architecture as I lavished details on the old movie palace, only the short stories gave the book enough action.

This is why I set so many scenes in bathrooms and airplane cabins. The setting needs zero description, so action can take place right away.

You can always try selling your underwear. Kardashians do it. Ain't no shame in paying the light bill.

Tonight's entertainment: I swear, I was just watching a local Colorado news reporter interview Lauren Boebert and she (reporter) said, "LBJ." Boebert, always suspicious of the media, said she wouldn't answer a profane question. After a few exchanges, it was apparent Boebert thought LBJ was a Latin Blow Job. Or maybe a Lauren Boebert Job? Not trying to be partisan, just a laugh.
