The Where and When and How

A word about the events…

The tour is divided roughly half and half into day-long in-store book signings and big evening show events. In most cases these alternate between cities.

With the in-store signings, you’ll get a chance to say hello and get books inscribed. Photos, chat. I’ll be at each store for a long stretch so it will be more relaxed, and you can come and go at your leisure on your schedule. At each I’ll do an abbreviated show later in the evening: A reading, questions, some prizes. If you come early, you’re free to wait or to come back for the smaller talk.

For the big shows, the sponsoring book store has booked a big venue. Those will be the crazy cut-loose events you might remember from past tours. The kangaroo helpers will run amuck, prizes will be tossed. Games played. I’ll read three stories, and the air will be filled with props and surprises. As time allows I can meet with a few readers one-on-one before the event, but the shows are mostly about a big dazzling free-for-all. Because the stores have to rent a venue, these are most likely ticketed. But if you’ve been to past shows such as the Bedtime Story Tour, you know these are worth it. The books at the big shows will all be pre-signed by me. But autographed nevertheless.
