Witness here the cursed Eye of Cheops, a stone so feared that…
It sold last week at the Beverly Hills Sotheby’s for $30. The anonymous sellers had set no floor bid or reserve, and only a single offer came in before they brought the hammer down. So begins a new chapter in the life of a jewel associated with unhappy events in the lives of Peg Entwistle, Elizabeth Short, and Jayne Mansfield. So violent is its history that the Eye of Cheops has spent much of the 20th Century locked away in the evidence vaults of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Historians since Pliny the Elder state that the stone began clear in color, but has grown progressively more red with the demise of each owner!
If you can find out more anecdotal history about the jewel, please post it in the Comments below. Such unsellable gems often come into my possession, and the person to post the most lurid, unsettling fact about the Eye of Cheops will receive the next accursed relic. Okay, you meddling kids, get sleuthing!!
Above all, do not tell Brandan!
He’s feeling hexed enough as it is.
Help me compile a complete history of the stone. Perhaps with a new owner it will change its evil ways. Or not. Post below.
Dig deep for facts and anecdotes. The next accursed jewel will be a doozy.
You have until Saturday night to unearth the unsavory, bone-chilling history of the Eye of Cheops. At that point I will choose a victim for the next accursed gem.
