I see what you did there...

A strange, sad note. The ghostwriter for "Three Cups of Tea" jumped from those cliffs once the book was revealed to be a hoax. His body lay on the talus slope below for three months before it was discovered.

From ghostwriter to ghost.

I guess there are a lot of bodies that haven't been found yet in places like this.

When those two women went missing in the national parks recently, one of the side stories aside from the main tragedy, was how many other bodies were found. Same thing with Gilgo Beach related to the potential serial killer. There are bodies everywhere it seems..

Just like one of your stories, this post goes from “that’s delightful” to “oh no.”

That is sad news to hear about the ghostwriter. And for his family not to know what happened to him for three months.

Do the cliffs have any good ghost stories or local lore?

Wow THAT is a great view! I see white buildings from my windows.

I started a crowdfund to get you a proper camera.

What a gorgeous view! 🤩

I don't know why but when I read the post subtitle I suddenly thought of Robin Williams in "Deconstructing Harry" being out of focus.

God, I miss Robin.

I miss him too.

I reckon I should have waved when I was up at Vista House - but I hadn't the foggiest. 😆

Not to cause panic but that orange glow on the cliff face looks eerily like the affect a flaming meteor has on the area it’s about to crash into.

Good luck tonight to all who will be presenting work! Hope everyone -- presenting work or otherwise -- has a great time at the venue.

By the way, if anyone is feeling like shooting a wee video tonight, capturing the moment, the room vibe, all those gasps and giggles, so you know, I'll be forever grateful if you can share it at some point.

May that hat spew your name.

May your words slap the audience on the cheek.

Make it memorable. Make it count.

Wonderful view. Not a bad picture either, they don't always have to be clean-perfect.

It does look like a painting! (With a bit of a real tree infront of it). Wow, so beautiful.

Good luck with hindsight tonight.

Best of luck to the participants!!!!

Best wishes to everyone tonight!!! My hopes are that some people faint—- maybe, some vomit—- and some hot lovemaking by the dumpster out back. Get wild! Make it count!!

*Chuckling

I can't imagine someone reading Guts and getting turned on.

Expand full comment

Well—- someone was turned on enough for it to actually happen in the first place. #urbanlegendsinthemaking

Oh, shit! I thought you were joking. I learn something new everyday. Who knew Guts is an aphrodisiac?

I grew up in the carny lifestyle—- I have seeeeeen things. Lol. Just about anything can be anymore. You ever seen people doing the dirty inside a bouncey house? Or side show groupies—- they get down, man. They know what’s up. Also— corn dogs are never a good idea to eat, ever. You know how Bourdain warned us all about “Monday fish specials?” I’m warning yah—- you don’t want corn dogs. Avoid anything fried the last day of a fair. You’re welcome. 🫣👍🏽💩

You don't have to tell me twice, I know why you said that. LULZ! I only eat carnie food on Day 2.

Sounds like some Donald Ray Pollock territory worth mining.

Pollock and I are both from similar areas in Ohio…so were a lot of serial killers. 😈

Even out of focus, that's a remarkable view. I love shit like that. The world has much to offer. Sappy assholes like me stop to enjoy it.

I really wish I was close enough to do an in-person reading. Even if I was, I couldn't. My asthma's so bad it sounds like I'm in pain when I read aloud. I'd need a proxy.

That is an awesome view!
